pride-and-prejudice-and-zombies-300x300 Jane Austen meets flesh eating monsters? Yep, that's the premise of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the popular book that combines the classic text with the undead and ninjas that is now a movie. Taking this one on is Fernando Velazquez, and it's a fun listen. Velazquez is happy to take on the stereotypical views people have of the Austen ilk (one early track quotes 'Rule, Britannia!') and combines these with horror music tropes, giving the score a sense of variety in the early parts. There's a lovely gothic sensibility in places and a big orchestral palette used, and it's a nice listen without ever feeling essential. -CB
