What We're Thankful For: Day 2

Christmas is a time of giving and receiving, and maybe celebrating some dude’s birth, but it’s also about looking back over the last year and recognising what we should be thankful for. Today, we are thankful for… DINOSAURS.

Irex

Dinosaurs are awesome. They're fearsome, pretty mean, and are damn fun to watch doing things (i.e. eating people). They're also pretty good at inspiring movie scores, and we've had two scores for dino-flicks this year that are polar opposites.  First up there's Michael Giacchino's Jurassic World, a blood-and-thunder epic with a blockbuster score that definitely puts the movie up another level. And then there's Mychael and Jeff Danna's The Good Dinosaur, the latest Disney-Pixar animation, which certainly goes for a different approach with its bluegrass Americana feel. Two very different scores, but both worth your time.

You can read our review of Jurassic World here, and The Good Dinosaur here.
