mistress-america1-300x300 If upbeat synth is your thing, Britta Phillips and Dean Wareham's Mistress America will do the job. Doing a fine job of transporting you right into the middle of the 1980's (even though the film is contemporary), it's a an enjoyable listen full of effervescent colour and infectious melody, with the odd Glass-ism on the side. Mixed in are tracks by OMD, Paul McCartney, and Hot Chocolate, and you wish there was a bit more variety here, as it's all a bit Moroder-lite.-CB
