Title: The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water

Composer: John Debney

The Film: Bikini Bottom's most famous son returns with his friends in tow, this time into superhero mode as they smash their way out into the live-action world.

The Score: Stirring stuff from Debney, who seems to find his groove here. Big orchestral action is on the menu and it doesn't disappoint.

Distinguishing Features: The swashbuckling 'Burger Beard On Island', the furious 'Plankton Attack' with shades of Elfman's Batman, the mysteriously mesmerising 'Intro Bubbles.

Final Thoughts: Don't write this off, Sponge Out Of Water is a lovely score. Debney is hit and miss sometimes, but here he delivers in spades (and buckets).

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water is out now from Varese Sarabande
