About

Charlie Brigden is a British writer and journalist who specialises in writing about film, especially film music. A fan of movies and soundtracks from an early age, he is a respected film music writer and author of many liner notes and essays for a variety of subjects including the music of Bernard Herrmann, the films of Paul Verhoeven, and horror series A Nightmare On Elm Street, for clients such as Mondo and Indicator.

Having written about film music online for over twelve years, he regularly writes for outlets such as RogerEbert.com, The Quietus, and Scream Magazine, and has also had work published in SciFiNow, Film School Rejects, and Den of Geek. However, one of his major achievements is writing promotional copy for over fifty releases from the cult soundtrack label Death Waltz Recording Co., incisively analysing and describing the work of such famous composers as Ennio Morricone and John Carpenter.

Charlie Brigden lives in South Wales, UK with his wife, two children, four cats, and eleven tarantulas.
